Get fresh local produce at the Beverly Farmers Market in downtown Beverly Massac

This is a great farmers' market connected to a large grassy park in downtown Beverly.  There is always music and a lot of shade.  The market offers fresh local produce as well as cheese, meat, eggs, bread, muffins, dog treats, massage, jewelry, and books.  The kids have a blast playing tag, meeting new friends, and listening to music.  The park is dog friendly, has plenty of parking and access to the commuter rail. This is a wonderful spot for an impromptu picnic!

Get muddy with Audubon at Long Wharf in Gloucester!

Come explore the wonders of a salt marsh at Long Wharf. Kids will use nets and trowels to look for mussels, clams, crabs, and fish. Then we will take a short walk to a nearby island and explore the unique upland forest to see what treasures it hides.


Downtown Gloucester Sidewalk Bazaar - Family Fun in Massachusetts

The Gloucester Sidewalk Bazaar brings together more than 5000 visitors to celebrate downtown Gloucester. This annual summer tradition, now in its 57th year, is a great time to shop from more than 40 artists and crafts-people, 40 merchants and restaurants, and learn the missions of many local nonprofits.

Salem's Ice Scream Bowl is back! It's time to sample some of the best ice cream in the North Shore from some of the many ice cream shops the area has to offer. Salem's Ice Scream Bowl event will be held rain or shine. The event is a chance to taste some classic favorite flavors, as well as try a few new ones, from area's premier ice cream shops. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets are purchased on site on the day of the event. A spoon and napkin will be supplied with the purchase of a ticket. Proceeds will go towards Salem Main Streets, a non-profit organization with the goal of revitalizing downtown Salem as a vibrant year-round retail, dining, and cultural destination.

The 25th Annual High street Mile includes categories for kids races!

The Winner’s Circle Running Club’s 25th Annual Newburyport High Street Mile will start at Atkinson Common. This is a fast, flat USATF certified straight line course (USATF certification MA07009JK). Separate start times based on age division and sex. Proceeds benefit the project to update and renew the Newburyport Track at Fuller Field and FONT (Friends of Newburyport Track).


PEM Peabody Essex Museum for Families

Patrick Dougherty bends, weaves and flexes saplings into architectural sculptures that dynamically relate to the landscape and built environment around them. Over the last 30 years, he has created more than 250 works throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. Constructed from saplings collected by area volunteers, What the Birds Know provides dramatic counterpoint to the highly finished wood-frame Crowninshield-Bentley House that dates to the early 18th century. This is the first time PEM has commissioned an outdoor sculptural installation.

Come join the fun at the Salem Willows for the firmen's muster!

An antique hand pumped fire engine muster where crews pump their machines to see who can shoot the longest stream of water. This is the oldest organized sport in the United States. These are hand pumped fire engines built of wood, copper, bronze, steel, and iron with valves made of leather. It's part historic preservation and part competition.  Spectators are invited to try out pumping the machines!

Cooking together and having fun in the kitchen makes our farm family happy and we want to share that enthusiasm for cooking with you.  Join us to make pizza from scratch! Yes, even the dough. We'll use the tomatoes and herbs coming out of our fields, the cheese from the cheese kitchen, and make dough from our farm neighbor's wheat. We will do some garden taste tests and each participant can make their own version of pizza for all of us to try out on the farm porch.

The BaHa Brothers bring beachy Jimmy Buffet music to Newburyport's Waterfront

The Baha Brothers is a Jimmy Buffett/Beachboys style band playing all our favorite songs with energy, fair and showmanship. Starting in the early 90’s they quickly became one of the best Jimmy Buffett Tribute bands in our area. They have played shows all over New England, in Margaritaville Key West, Las Vegas, on National Television and have even played with Jimmy Buffett! Band members include: Pete on Sax, Johnny Cuervo on drums, Billy on Keyboards, Jay on Bass and Paul on Guitar.


Kids ride free on the 10am Saturday Cruise on the Lannon through Summer

Schooner Thomas E. Lannon is a fixture on the Gloucester Harbor vista throughout the day in the warm months, but to really experience the Lannon, you need to come aboard and go for a cruise!  Sail and see lighthouses, castles, scenic beaches, and magnificent waterfront homes.

With their special offer each Saturday on the 10 .am. cruise, sailing aboard the Lannon becomes even more accessible.  For each paying adult, one child will be granted free admission!  Kids aged 16 and under sail for free. Each kid must be accompanied by an adult. Each adult must pay full fare for his or her ticket. No other discounts apply.
