Kids will explore IRWS wetland in search of painted and snapping turtles.

As late Spring becomes early Summer, it means one thing: turtle time! Join us for an afternoon of exploring our wetlands in search of these fascinating reptiles. We'll visit areas where turtles like to nest in hopes of finding some eggs, and, with a little luck, get an up-close look at a painted turtle. We'll conclude with a trip to the Rockery to see if we can summon our resident snapping turtle, Godzilla.


Come to the Manchester Essex Regional High School and meet the Green Team!

Manchester Essex Green Team's showcase will event will start with Scholars and Interns presenting about their experiences, followed by an opportunity to talk with each Scholar's project in the halls with a light refreshment table. There willl also be tours where students will direct visitors through the school and show exactly what makes our school one of the greenest in the state! RSVP online now!


MFA boston celebrates Memorial Day with an open house - free admission to all!

The Museum of Fine Arts will honor Memorial Day with an Open House and will waive all admission fees. Visitors can enjoy complimentary admission to the MFA's galleries, family activities and performances.

Art-making activities for children and introductory tours to the Museum’s collection will be available. The MFA’s Memorial Day Open House also offers families the opportunity to view special exhibitions: “Hokusai,” “In the Wake: Japanese Photographers Respond to 3/11,” “Gordon Parks: Back to Fort Scott,” and “Elemental.”


Memorial Day is a big celebration in Saugus, MA. Come thank our veterans.

The Saugus Veterans Council Memorial Day Parade will start on Jackson Street at 9:00 am to Cliftondale Square along Lincoln Avenue to Central Street then onto Winter Street to the Veterans’ lot at Riverside Cemetery for graveside services including an invocation and a '21 Gun Salute'. The parade will re-form and march to Saugus Town Hall for the memorial ceremony with Master of Ceremonies Captain Stephen Castinetti and a special tribut by the "Singing Trooper" Sgt. Daniel M. Clark


Memorial Day ceremonies in Beverly Farms are hosted  by the Michael J. Cadigan American Legion Post. Veterans march a 1-mile route from Private Anthony Rezza Road to West Beach, with stops at several locations to lay wreaths at memorials honoring veterans, where ancestors of veterans are active participants. The parade leaves Rezza Road at 9:30 a.m. and ends at West Beach with a tossing of wreaths into the water to honor those who died at sea.

Marblehead's Memorial Day activities start at an 8am muster, where Veterans leave from the Old Town House on Washington Street and go to the State Street Wharf and then Clark Landing, where a service will be held for Navy, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine veterans. At 9am, the main parade begins and participants will march to Memorial Park then to Waterside Cemetery for a full memorial day service.
